Bumper: On a black background, we see the words "This film has been modified from its original version. It has been formatted to fit this screen".
Trivia: This format screen was also used by Universal Studios Home Video and DreamWorks Home Entertainment around this time. It exists in a filmed variant and a videotaped variant, the latter has a smooth fade in and fade out.
FX/SFX: Just the simple fade in and fade out.
Cheesy Factor: Nothing wrong with this bumper, but couldn't the other companies that used this bumper come up with something more original?
Availability: On almost every Paramount and Universal VHS release from 1994 until 2006. Don't expect this on many DVDs released by either studio though; those films are in widescreen and thus do not carry a format screen.
Scare Factor: None to low for the filmed version, unless you are afraid of film scratches. Absolutely none for the videotaped variant.
