1st Bumper

(1990-2000)

Bumper: We see two purple streaks on the bottom and the top of the screen (one on the top and one on the bottom). Inside the box of those two purple streaks (the box is on a white background) is a group of stars in the shape of a rectangle slowly and constantly circling the purple text "Please stay tuned following this presentation for previews of other Barney Home Videos".

Early Variant: The purple text was cyan in a more formal-looking font, the stars were replaced by odd crayon marks, and it was also still.

FX/SFX: The stars circling the purple text. None for the early variant.

Music/Sounds: None, except for a female announcer saying the text.

Availability: Common. It was seen on many Barney & Friends tapes from the era. It continued to be used in tandem with the next logo until about 2000. The early variant is rare, but can be found on the earliest releases of Barney in Concert and Barney's Imagination Island.

Scare Factor: None to low. The announcer can catch you off guard, but it is otherwise still harmless for those that are used to seeing it. The font of the text on the earlier variant, as well as its sudden appearance, can creep some out.

2nd Bumper

(1998-2000)

Bumper: On a moving yellow construction paper background with yellow colored construction paper pieces falling from the top to bottom of the screen, we see the white text "Please stay tuned following this presentation for previews of other Barney Home Videos" inside a slightly tilted purple rectangle at the center of the screen.

Trivia: This bumper is based off of the 1998-2000 intro to Barney tapes.

FX/SFX: The moving pieces of construction paper on the background.

Cheesy Factor: The background being made of construction paper may seem ridiculous to you.

Music/Sounds: The first Lyrick Studios logo theme, with a very cheerful male announcer saying the text.

Availability: Rare. It was seen on certain Barney releases with the second Lyrick Studios logo, such as ABCs and 123s.

Scare Factor: None to minimal. It can surprise you if you're not expecting it.
